DAMN IT...I have NEVER sold anything on PayPal and I never will.....it will be cash ONLY.... I looked into making sure everything was/ looked legit and it did...called PayPal to do what they said do (call with a tracking number) only to find out...THEY dont and never have asked for that information.... I have to go to the Post office tomorrow and try to retreive the package or I am SOL and out $150.00...I am SSSOOOOOOO PISSED.... REMEMBER...PAY PAL WILL NEVER ASK THAT YOU SEND A TRACKING NUMBER TO THEM. Talk about a valuable lesson...... uuuuuuuuuggggggggghhhhhhhhh

Not to rub salt into the wound, but this topic was discussed about three pages back under the heading "SCAM". Take PayPal(or checks)only from TRUSTED sources or cash. Believe you had at least one post in that discussion. So why the sale with PP and not cash?

cause I guess I wanted to sell the phone, was contacted by someone who said she wanted to buy the phone for her daughter (I had the phone posted on RYS, also on a yardsale site IN Nebraska, in the Stars and Stripes) so sending cash thru the mail was something I didn't think about when they said they could not meet me in person cause they were not in the area. When I got the e-mail from PayPal believe me, I looked at everything front and back and all that...everything seemed legit...I didn't think on going back through the posts to see if there was something on here. The address in Nebraska is a real street (I looked it up AND it helps being from the area)...EVERYTHING looked legit...even the Pay Pal rep said so when I read it to him....they were good....they got me...if I cant retrieve it from the post office that is $160.00 I am out...I feel like SUCH an idiot......

Good luck at the post office!

The post office isn't going to pay you squat. You sent it to a person, they took your money. Nothing you can do about it, unless you want to take it through the legal channels.

Don't believe she was looking for the post office to pay her anything. She was hoping to be able to retrieve the package from the post office before it left the facility. Don't know if she was successful or not. *HuskerFan* what say you?

P.S...went to the Post OFfice....they had me fill out some forms which they will ship to the post offices where the package MAY go...there were 5 of them. If they are able to stop it then I pay a small fee...which I dont mind. Nope never was looking for the post office to pay me anything....not even a thought of mine...it was not thier fault that I played into her hands...even KNOWING about scams out there.....it is a $160.00 lesson learned....

Pay pal is actually one of the safer online payment gateways, however you have to be careful of a few things. Pay pal will let you know when you look in your pay pal account though. 1 of the things you have to watch for is... the person paying for the product pays with an online check.... if they pay with an online check you have to wait until the check clears then you can ship the product, the other thing you have to watch for is people who have a history of not paying for things, generally with paypal their accounts will be closed if they have too many reports. but its good to use a site where the buyer gets a rating and you can leave comments on how the transaction went. I am building something like that now. actually that part of it is done. I hate shady ppl that pull that kind of stuff
