Okay so i'm totally computer illiterate, keep this in mind. Anyway, we're pcs'ing and I need to do the whole DPS thing. It won't work on Firefox, or on the newest version of IE. So will someone fill me in on how to downgrade from version 8 on IE to version 5,6, or 7. Please? Thanks! 

check the microsoft site. i believe that downgrading is impossible if you didn't install the ie 8 as an upgrade. 

Thanks Bob! I think we upgraded it from 7, but not sure. I don't know how long 8 has been out. Do you think it would work to uninstall IE all together and reinstall IE 7 or something? 

do u have firefox? cause if so you can delete ie and redownload it from microsoft 

Yeah I have firefox. I was hoping it would work on that, but nope! Of course, just my luck! 

yeah but you could download the older ie from firefox browser 

Instructions from the Microsoft Knowledge Base article To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, follow these steps: Carefully select and then copy the following command: FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-8*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart" Click Start, and then type Cmd.exe in the Start Search box. In the list of programs, right-click Cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator. Note If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click Continue. Right-click inside the Administrator: Command Prompt window, and then click Paste to paste the command that you copied in step 1. Press ENTER to uninstall Internet Explorer 8. When the uninstall program is finished, restart your computer.
