We have had ADAC for a year now, thankfully never needed to use them.

I think we 'expired' last month and don't recall getting a bill or being rebilled on a credit card.

first question--is there an office that I can CALL to see if we truly expired or if I paid for multiple years and just forgot that I did?

second question--

we pay USAA for towing, lockout, etc --has anyone ever used THEIR services for something like what they would use ADAC for? how do they compare?

We have used USAA reimbursement for towing. It is fairly easy. Never used it overseas, but did use it in The States. They have a toll-free number that you can call and they will send out a wrecker to pick up your car. Nothing out of pocket if you fall within the guidelines for the tow. We haven't used them for lockout or anything else.

I am not sure, but you should ask USAA if these claims go against your insurance? I know in the past when you have multiple tow claims they might consider raising your premium or cancelling you as a risk.

Don't get me wrong, all insurance does this, not just USAA. And I love USAA.

I love our ADAC too though!

I would like to know about USAA towing here, have you done that?

I spoke to Usaa before a trip to Amsterdam and asked about coverage. They said reimbursement is no problem.Just keep your receipt

We used USAA towing last yr when we totalled our car. We called ADAC first but there were so many accidents that day that we waited hours and they still hadn't come. We then called USAA and they were there in well under an hour. We didn't have to pay but maybe it was because we had totalled our car and place an accident report? Good thing we called them. The car had to go to their contracted service center and we would have had ADAC tow it to the wrong place.

With ADAC the first year, we got a slip in our German mailbox that said we had gotten a package that we needed to pick up and that we owed 110 euros or something like that. I had no idea what on earth it was so I ignored it and figured it would be returned to sender. Then I saw a post somewhere with someone asking about a similar slip and found out it might be the ADAC renewal so I went to the ADAC service center in K-Town and, sure enough, it was.

Using a towing service through ADAC there is no out of pocket charge at the time of tow whereas using USAA or GEICO you may have a large, on the spot cash payment.

Good point Atticus!

Kristen,
You do have to give ADAC notice that your not going to renew. I can't remember exactly how long, maybe a month before. Just call where you got it from to check about the notice.
