Anybody know of any decent hotels in London? My wife and I would like an actual hotel and not a hostel. Try to stay near the main spots of the city but don't want to break the bank at the same time. Thanks!

My husband and I always stay at Ibis Hotels. They are very small simple clean rooms, and usually near a metro. They do not have breakfast included but usually have a restaurant on site if you do want to dine there.

The price of the room depends on the season. We've paid as little as 45 euro in off season, and 65 in peak.

Premier Inn

I have used them a few times, and if you are not satisfied with your stay they give you a 100% refund!
Ibis to are very good, am staying in one Sunday night as it goes!

Priceline. You can stay in a 4-5 star hotel for the same price as an Ibis motel.

Thanks for the help... Also what is the main difference with an "ensuite" bathroom and a "private" bathroom?

Should be the same thing. En suite = private.

Ok, I wasn't sure i was reading some mixed reviews that ensuite means in the room and private can mean you have your own bathroom but it might not be in the room...

En suite means adjoins the bedroom, private bathroom would mean it is in a separate area of the suite/room - Persons shouldn't have to access your bedding area to get to it.

We stay at the Park Place at County Hall. It's close to Waterloo Station. It's located near the eye and Big Ben. Fabulous location. It is a nicer hotel and can be expensive if booked directly but booking.com has great deals for them. Sometimes half off and its a VERY nice hotel.

We stayed at a Best Western near Paddington. Paid too much for what we got if you ask me. We will stay further out next time as the metro gets you in fast and you buy the ticket anyhow. I spotted some NICE hotels further out for 1/2 the price
